The recall stems from a serious defect where the pressure washer's capacitor can overheat and explode, potentially ejecting parts at high speed. This has reportedly led to 135 incidents of overheating and 41 explosions, resulting in 32 recorded injuries, including severe fractures and impacts to the face and hands. Such alarming statistics highlight the critical need for vigilance among current users.

To see if your pressure washer is among the defective units, look for models RY142300 and RY142711VNM, characterized by their green color, spray nozzle, and a blue-capped detergent tank, with purchased dates between July 2017 and June 2024. These models often sold at Home Depot and Direct Tools Factory Outlet could put both you and your family at risk.
